LAY-OFFS and MIND SET OF EMPLOYEES

Lay offs this is the word I am hearing very frequently now-a-days . The reasons may vary according to the company but the whole purpose is to reduce some costs . we can’t UNDERSTAND OR ACCEPT this fact unless and until we look this issue through the management eyes. For example let’s us consider that you have a big house and have 10 to 15 servants in your house and your earnings are quite high .Now for you the earnings have dropped drastically for a few months and you have no idea when will u get back to your previous state then what will you do?? Some how reduce the expenses right.One thing what will you do is reduce the number of servants . You won’t do this as sudden .You have even given them salaries even when your earnings are less until you got to do some thing with your expenses. At that time you won’t think of your servant’s families and life because you have your own problems. That's what even companies do.

Now the mind set of employees during the layoffs. Every company has a life cycle and the cycle is like a sign wave. Ups and downs.Like wise even the mind of the employees has three stages. They are
1)Angry
2)Accept
3)As Usual(Keep Going )---This stage is highest stage where u won’t feel anything.
