Thailand Trip

Most of the adults (males) I met are so fantasized about going for Thailand for a holiday trip before marriage , when I enquired what is that they are so fascinated about there is no explicit answer for it. Most of them have their own perceptions about it; so many have other people’s perception. Though I never understood their curiosity of Thailand I planned for Thailand trip only to do.SKY DIVING. But as life has it take on you ,due to some legal issues for moving to new drop zone the Thai Sky adventure team could not able to open the drop zones by the time I reached there and having nothing to do I decided to find out what brings people to Thailand. Here are the things:

  • Cheap Sex ( Prostitution is Legal in Thailand) as low as Rs 40 per hour (I overheard the price)
  • Cheap Thai Massages (including the erotic ones you see in You tube)
  • Gals/WOMEN
  • Cheap Shopping (including GEMS/Jewelry) / adventure activities
Though the fourth point is not cheap for INDIANS.

PATTAYA CITY:

We entered the city around 10AM in the morning only to find out almost nobody is there on streets, minimal traffic, very minimal public transportation, very few restaurants have opened and it is terribly hot. I am stunned. Is it due the floods effect I thought for a while but figured out it is not so after I roamed across the streets of PATTAYA CITY in the night.

Till 6PM the city is one thing and after 6PM it is completely another thing. The following are my observations on the city:

  •    There is absolutely no day life in Pattaya apart from visiting Buddha temples, coral islands nearby and some view points.
  •  City wakes up around 6PM – aerobic sessions on beach roads, Prostitutes / stripe bar gals getting ready for the work, Taxi guys asking each and every individual males walking on the streets for some erotic massages, Restaurants opens with music and English speaking Thai Gals, Old Men (mostly Europeans) walking on the beaches with their young Thai Wife /GF / hired lady companions, Walking street gets into running mode, city tour travelers & Coral Island travelers coming back to the city.
  •  There is a street in the city where both sides of the street is occupied by the bars with stripe bar gals dragging people into the bar and offering drinks , dances and if the customer wants their bodies. You can’t cross the streets without being dragged into the one of the bars until and unless they figure out u do not have money. There is same kind of street in every metro in Thailand.
  •  Once you enter the beach road after 8 PM from walking street lane, U find restaurants on right side of the road and Prostitutes on the left side of the road. These gals are purely professional they do not disturb you  if you are not interested. For me the restaurants and prostitutes looks like same .If u have hunger u go right, if ur body is hunger u go left.
  • Since Prostitution is legal, every gals who are into this profession needs to get a license from the government which needs to be submitted at the hotel reception at the time of taking her into the hotel.
   WOMEN:

Thailand is a country where you find more women than men across the country. For every ten people u look 7 will be gals and in the rest 3 boys u will find at least one who is a ladyboy. There is a show called ALCAZAR show in Pattaya, which is typically a cabaret show performed by mostly ladyboys. But when u see the show u can’t say that they are ladyboys.Such is the situation in Thailand. Where ever u go it is women right from selling things to buying things to consuming things to entertainment to ticket collector to finally roaming freely in the nights to corporations to schools to end of the border.

Culture:

Thai people are most patient, helpful, compassionate, kind people you will every see in the world. This is not said by me it is said by most of the people who have visited Thailand I kinda agree with it. I guess it is in their culture. They do not have any inspiration quotes across the country they only have like help them, help them ,help them kinda quotes in all the places.U do not find people rushing at u except the taxi wallas who want to pursue to get the massages. People will only try to help u if they can. The main problem for outsiders is language. U find less English speaking people with even less imaginative brains. I say this because they have answers to only standard questions and if they do not understand they do not even try to understand they will become dumb and do not talk with u or respond to you. But if u can make them understand what they want they will definitely help u out.

PHUKET /PHI PHI ISLANDS:

Phuket is bigger than what I have imagined. It consists of three hills separated at a distance of 5 to 6Kms.It is difficult to roam in Phuket without hiring your own vehicle as the public transportation is damn costly. If u take public transportation u will definitely run out of money. As I heard it is hub for Thailand Mafia. No Police will stop u in PHUKET as most police are afraid of their lifes as they say Guns do not need agreements. Beaches are damn Good in PHUKET. U can spend the days /nights just seating on the beaches.

PHI PHI Islands are the place for SCUBA DIVERS. U will find different diversified underwater species. Moreover the cost of scuba diving is damn cheap here. MAYA BAY is nice place to spend a lethargic afternoon. Phi Phi Don Island is the place where you find accommodation and u can walk across the island in one hour on foot.

Bangkok:

It is just another city with malls, pollution, traffic jams, palaces, temples and more people. The traffic is even more horrible than Bangalore. It took us one hour to just go 8kms in a Taxi. Even though it is costlier we took the metro to avoid traffic. The best part of Bangkok is the place we have stayed MHC GUEST HOUSE. Met an Ex-English Pilot and chatting with him is awesome. Had Authentic Thai Massage (not the one u see in you tube) but proper medical school one.

PS: Tip while travelling in Thailand: Bargain Bargain Bargain

Bhayya, you could have this post sent to the Thailand officials to put it up on their website for tourist guidelines and help. More than anything else, you have made it easy for everybody wanting to go to thailand to plan an optimal and enjoybale stay ;)
