Women’s Day Special

On March 8 th as usual I was getting all the women’s day SMS /FWD messages / email chains. Sitting at my cubicle in the office I was thinking about the all the women I talked  in my last 25 yrs of existence. All the nice conversations, Kodak moments, funny incidents rolled like a reel in front of my mind. The following 3 people’s life I adore the most not because of who they are ? or what they have done in their life but because of how they are leading their lives. The commonality among them is all are good fighters in their life.

UDAY’s MOTHER :

                 She is my childhood frined’s mother but became one of my best friends during the course of my life. She is always there for me during my low times of life.She used to tell stories to make my low times bearable.She had struggled through out her life in one way or another.Fighting in life has become routine for her.Sometimes she wins ,some times she loses but she keep on fighting.Her eyes says everything. I once asked her what is the one thing I should learn from her life . She Said “ Chakri ,Never back up  in life when the reason is FEAR.” Till today I stood by this and hope to do so for rest of my life. She is the one lady I can talk anything under sun without any bias either politically,philosophically  or religiously.She is a very practical woman. She lead her life just by fighting not with hope or desires.

MY ATTAMMA:

                 She is my father’s sister.She is a religious person.No matter what you discuss with her finally it come down to GOD.So I never used to have much talk with her in my early and adult days.But when I realized that she has the capability of looking from other person’s shoes I was really surprised as I had a pre-notion that the religious people are generally close minded.From then on we are having regular long distance calls.She is very sensitive ,innocent and happy person but still a fighter in life.She lives life with the attitude of winning.That is what I like in her.  After my mother got expired 10 years ago she actually took her place in our family and provide great care and support our family emotionally. If we have any type of problem in our family she would be first person to get contacted.

TEJU:

             Before I met her, people around me used to describe her like a highly attitude,stubborn, doesn’t give a damn about anything. But when I came to know about her it is quite different from what they thought.She is just another gal who wants her voice to be heard. All her life she has been fighting with herself and her surrounding to just them make listen. The amount of fight she does in her life is magnanimous. You see people just give up with slight discomfort, I myself cannot fight like her.To make them listen she raised her voice and people thought she is devil and forgot to see angel in her. BTW she even cries sometimes. Her greatest ability is her vision. She has such a kind of eyes which can look through  the bull shit to good in some one and she do not mind getting dirt in her finger nails. Fighting relentlessly  like her is what motivates me at times.

Watching all these women lead their life , I feel I am privileged for having some inherent advantages in my life. I just stand infront of them with humility,smile and respect keeping in mind my privileges.
