About- Turn
Things have taken a about-turn once I reached the US of America.Like in a movie where the ill-fated gal kisses a boy and her fate takes a drastic turn leading to all good things. Similar drastic turn had happened in my life after reaching US.
First thing: I got a dorm at the starting of the block. Which means I do not have to walk much.So what ? It is a very very very good thing happened to me. In the last twelve years wherever I stayed at a rented house/ hostel or wherever I worked, I used to walk a lot of distance. My house would be corner one in the lane and my office would be the last building in the tech-park or in the office campus. I used to walk walk walk and walk(sometimes two kilometers at a single stretch). Now I just don't have to do walk more. KEWL. Just imagine a thing which was bothering you for so long and suddenly it gets disappeared. How do you feel? Another best part, library is just beside my dorm and gym is just behind my dorm so more less walk.
Second thing: Gals here would blush and say thank you when they were complemented instead of giving a " r u interested in me" look or sending a lengthy "I am not interested"e-mail. I am just loving this genuine interaction without any side thoughts.
Third thing: Gals were asking me out(Hurrah !!!) for going to Gym together, for practicing salsa, for breakfast ,for long trips and best part was I do not have to pay their bills.I just cannot believe what was happening. BTW they were even complimenting my attire. Never Never happened in India. May be that would be a cultural issue but I prefer expressing out to expressing in.
Fourth thing:The surroundings here are more conductive and positive. I did not heard a straight and stubborn 'No'. If I have a problem everybody around me are trying to help me out or If I want something, everybody is trying out to make it happen. I guess the probability of making something happen is more in the USA. The professors never say any discouraging words to you irrespective of how badly you perform. There is no sarcasm in their words. Feedback will be honest and straight to the point.
PS: Finally used paper in the toilet rooms.
PPS: Applied for my first internship at Nestle.
PPPS: Done with the grammar part in the business english communication classes now concentrating on the glamour part.
PPPPS: Learning History.
PPPPPS: Currently no dissatisfaction in life. I am glad.
