First Taste of People Management
People Management is the toughest job among all the corporate jobs because it does not have any pattern and it does not follow any rationale. One of my leads used to say it is like a business transaction –take what you want and give them what they want. Does it apply in all times to all people or can we give them what they have asked for. There are lots of questions revolving in my head regarding people Management. Do we actually need to manage people? In any corporate world hierarchy itself is sufficient to get the things done and any individual is not bigger than the organization. Then why manage people. I used to ask lot of questions to my manager which he necessarily do not have answers but still tried to convince me and I never got convinced by his answers. I started reading books about it but found no answers. In the mean while I happened to organize a trip to Andaman Islands. At that moment I never thought the journey would test my patience, spontaneity, sacrificing ability, proactive thinking, analytical skills and finally my people skills. I never imagined that this trip would provide all my answers regarding the people management. Like in RGV movies now I am not going to write what happened and how I got reacted to all. I want to end up with this “One can’t satisfy all the people in one’s team and this is never going to happen. Compromise is a way of life. It is bound to happen. Then why take that choice sadly. Let embrace it with Joy.”

Why even try to satisfy anybody.. man is a social being.. but not obligated to be one.. :)
