Cultural Terrorism


I just heard of the word “ Cultural Terrorism” hit the news channel when the movie “Viswaroopam” was banned in a particular state in India. All the media people were barking, “India is becoming intolerant.“ Though media is quoting that freedom of expression is at state, when did India tolerated freedom of expression at the first place. There are so many movies, books that had a problem to get released in India because some section of people did not liked them and that some section is talking for entire sect. Now a days you just cannot talk your preference openly even on internet. I feel this behavior is coming from Identity crisis. If you are not appearing in media you are out of people ‘s mind. I strongly believe most of the problems we face either in life or corporates where most of us work or the country in which we live is due to the egos of certain leaders. The egos of the leaders do not let them go easy on the things. In a country of millions and millions of people what ever one say there would be definitely a person who would get offended attending to this there are lot of news channels which create unnecessary rift between leaders by keeping news channel views into the leaders mouths on each and every problem. I wish media shared news not the views.  Irrespective of any number of discussions there is no solution to the cultural terrorism as leaders who are creating chaos are getting identified themselves for something which is not there at the first place. It only bound to get worse day by day.

Begin Again

In the closing lines of the story "What we talk about when we talk about love"  Raymond Carver  says: I  could hear my heart beating. I could hear everyone's heart. I could hear the human noise we sat there making, not one of us moving, not even when the room went dark. When we read the book, its about finding that heart beating.It has been long time, I felt like that after reading a book : deeply connected, tears after reading it, completely satisfied, joy in the face, feeling human again. The other day, I felt similar emotion after watching the movie "Begin again". Best songs I have heard in recent times, best music, best performances, best screenplay. Thanks   John Carney for making me cry and writing/directing such a subtle story. PS: After watching the movie, I felt like going to Newyork again. (The movie is completely shot at NY downtown)

Surrender

Trying to maintain control in this life is like trying to maintain control on a roller coaster ride. The ride has its own logic and is going to go its own way, regardless of how tightly you grip the bar. There is a thrill and joy in simply surrendering to the ride and fully feeling the ups and downs of it rather than fighting them.
